Welcome to Mountain States LICA
In the middle of the 19th century, an Indiana newspaper editor named John Babson Lane Soule exhorted his readers, “Go west, young man, go west”—an invitation to take up homestead further west. Shortly thereafter, floods of people began their voyage west to take part in the Colorado Gold Rush (when Colorado was merely a Kansas territory).
The original draw to the West was rooted in the land, rich in so many ways. The land’s promise hasn’t changed, though now, the Land Improvement Contractors of America’s (LICA) members arrive with Caterpillar D10s in tow. Through LICA’s rich legacy, the new Mountain States chapter—comprising members in Colorado, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming—now becomes our association’s new frontier.
The Mountain States chapter is built on the same foundation as the national association. For more than 60 years, LICA members have been paving the way for our country’s growth. LICA membership has grown significantly over those years, building a robust suite of membership benefits while remaining committed to elevating the land-improvement industry.
What can you expect from the Mountain State chapter? While we will build on the legacy of LICA, we will create a unique name for ourselves within the industry. With an active membership drive in the months ahead, coupled with a robust blog and webinar presence to reach our expansive regional base, we will become a cornerstone for LICA in the West. Becoming a Mountain States LICA settler is simple: Visit the membership link and complete the application form. And please, come join the LICA family and learn more about the Mountain States chapter at the upcoming 2017 Summer Meeting in Colorado Springs (details under Events)!
I look forward to working with you all in the years ahead!
